This fast-acting herbal liquid Valerian has a calming effect and is a useful substitute for chemical tranquilizers for your horse or dog. You need to give enough--a single dose for a 1,000 lb horse is 50 ml. Give a DOUBLE dose a good two hours before the scary event, be it a hurricane or a visit from the farrier. In 2-3 hours, give an additional single dose if needed.
Serenus is also very helpful for dogs scared out of their wits by thunderstorms or fireworks. Give 1 ml for every kilo (2.2 lbs.) of dog weight.
