Call your veterinarian if:
* the laceration needs sutures (best done within six hours of the injury.)
* the wound is deep, gaping open or bleeding heavily.
* drainage doesn't minimize after 2-3 days, or increases.
* you notice swelling, redness or increased tenderness indicating a possible infection settling in.
* granulation tissue becomes raised above the level of surrounding skin edge.
